days, but not diagnosed until four years later, diagnosis and screening for tbi in domestic violence non existent, always passed off as a mental or situational disorder
Tell about the experience immediately after the injury. Surgery? Coma
sent home from hospital with no diagnoses, forced to take care of two young children and follow through with court and divorce, with a disability no one knew I hade

horrible got on a blue schwinn bike in winter to escape my abuser and landed up in a womens bateered shelter, found out i was pregnant with another yound child, absolutely the most horrible experience ever!!!!

drastically, horriblbly, parenting, relationships, non trust of professionals and basically gave up on lawyers, counselors medical and police who I thought would help, were not there due to lack of education and indifference and revictimized all over again
Tell us about life today
still haave those feellings, disability would have been better with proper medical care and prosecution of husband and not giving him visitation for hime to continue to abuse us, etc, so life with children is difficult and since no rehab, well......
What do you want to tell others going through the same process? Treatments, understandings and actions that made a difference
they need proper screening and a wake up call for professionals to act and professionals need to be held accountable for when the do not act... they need consequences.... for not protecting us
