Tell about the experience immediately after the injury. Surgery? Coma?
Coma and surgery. First a local hospital, then the area VA hospital, then to the Denver VA.
Tell us about the hospital stay after the survivor was no longer in a coma
Longtime from home but they had a very good experience while there.
Tell us about the time in rehabilitation?
Stil far from home was hard. He made great strands but was a new person. We called it the 'new normal'.
Tell us about coming home!
He and his wife were very nervous about how others would react. They struggle with being strangers to each other and his having few memories of their life together.

Sad, Helpless, informing myself to help.
Tell us about life today?
They still struggle. This was only last summer. She is very tired. He meltsdown a lot.
What do you want to tell others going through the same process? Treatments, understandings and actions that made a difference?
It is very hard. Prayer helps. Life will be VERY differant.
